  • Currently On Exhibit: "Telling Her Story"

Are you ready to see the "Telling Her Story" exhibit on the walls of the new Community Gallery? We have 94 total participants in this exhibit. Yes, you read that right! We asked folks to share what women inspire their life and art. The response to this call was incredible, and we can't wait to show you their work and stories!

This exhibit will feature 47 gallery artists, and many participants from our own neighborhood community including The Holmstad, the Batavia Depot Museum and local girl scout troops. Visit the Community Gallery upstairs (nestled amongst our Resident Artist studios) and see all of the personally and collectively meaningful work. Afterall, it's purposeful when we can come together and create in community! Special thanks and a shoutout to our co-curators, Ana Vitek and Carly Palmer, for putting this "labor of love" exhibit together - we know how much they've enjoyed getting to know all of the artists involved.

"Telling Her Story" opens Saturday March 16th and runs through Sunday, June 16th.

From realism to abstract, to everything in between, we are encouraging bright, bold and colorful work to capture the vibrancy of the season. The dog days of summer are right around the corner, and we'd love to have you join in on the fun with us! All ages and all mediums are welcome to participate!

The exhibit opens on Saturday, June 29th. Details to follow! There will be a group painting activity at the opening for all participating artists present. Ana’s Vision For The Community Gallery:

The goal of the community gallery will be to create a place to celebrate local creativity in all forms. I believe that when we share our artwork we can enrich our collective lives through the arts and grow, uplift, inspire each other. Our goal will be to create an exhibition space for all artists to come together and celebrate creativity with artists participating from different age groups, media, and backgrounds sharing their unique artwork and creativity. We will create opportunities throughout the year for all to be involved through ongoing Open Call Exhibitions, collaborative community driven art creation, and coordinated educational programming and events.

Carly’s Vision For The Community Gallery:

Welcome to the Community Gallery at Water Street Studios! I see Water Street Studios as a kaleidoscope of potential and possibility. Much like a kaleidoscope, it is always shifting and offering us a new chance for perspective. Within our new Community Gallery, and on the very walls, my aim is to build connection and fruitful relationships that highlight our exhibiting artists. It is my hope to bring immersive and invitational experiences that allow us to peer through the artistic lens, and hear from unique voices. This invites us all to find art in life, and life in art. We look forward to having you join us on this journey!
