WATER STREET STUDIOS CLAY LAB

“The clay lab is an artistic haven for me. It's where I can take a break from all the noise life brings and focus on being creative. I never know what challenges or outcomes my next bag of clay will give me and I find enjoyment in that process. I'm incredibly grateful Water Street Studios provides this membership for us ceramic artists."

  • Greta Bell

Greta Bell is an enthusiastic beginner clay subscriber. Over 30 years ago she took one class with her father and in memory of him and that special bonding experience she signed up for a class (then another and another….)with Jeremy Foy. Jeremy’s excellence as a teacher to all ,young and old ,created an atmosphere of joy that sparked the journey Greta gleefully follows into the world of Ceramics. When Greta isn’t in the clay lab she is painting, creating mini movies, gardening or making bread.

  • Iris Davis

Iris Davis has always been interested in making "things". From baking, knitting, sewing and more, she is always on the lookout for a new hobby to occupy her time. A longtime desire to "play with clay" led her to sign up for the Beginning Wheel Throwing class at Water Street in September 2021 and she's been hooked ever since. Most of her pieces are unique & individual experiments that are inspired by childhood nostalgia and her love of oddities.

  • Leah Holmer

Hey I’m Leah! My time with the Clay Lab has been focused on dusting the rust off of the BFA in Ceramics I received a while back. Wheel throwing is such a mindful and sensory process for me. Being in the moment and creating these forms from start to finish has been such a rewarding and therapeutic experience. I enjoy making functional vessels, with a specific focus on mugs most recently. I also really appreciate the support and community that WSS offers.

What Clay Makers Are Saying

“Being a part of Water Street Studio’s Clay Lab has allowed me to get back in touch with my creative self and dust off my BFA roots with ceramics. I am so grateful to have a place that is so welcoming, to meet fellow artists, to have the freedom to follow my own process and for the studio to be so accessible. This membership has brought me so much mindfulness and joy.”
