Adult & Teen - here are just a few of the fall class offerings:
Figurative
Watercolors for Adults
Create strong watercolor paintings of people from your photo
references and snap shots. This workshop is intended to encourage
and challenge students through design and contrast, to explore
character and play with persona. Students will learn the
versatility of watercolor when employing a higher ratio of pigment
to water, different paper surfaces and pigment properties.
(Suggested Materials to bring: Photo/snap shot reference of one or
several people. Pre-drawing allows more painting time but is
optional. Good watercolor paper such as Arches or Lanaquarelle, to
name a few, 140 lb. weight. Palette with large wells and mixing
space. Tubes of watercolor paints so fresh paint may be used
instead of dried paint. Variety of pigments; transparent through
opaque, values and fun colors, include titanium white watercolor.
Brush collection to include some flats and at least one 1½" or 2"
wide flat brush.)

Controlling the Spark
In this class you will learn the fundamental skills of metal
fabrication. This is a class for beginners who have never worked
with metal, or experienced artists who want to brush up on their
skills. Students will present their sculpture ideas, learn how to
advance their concept into a 3D form and complete a finished
product. In this class students will learn to use the tools
associated with metal working such as a Mig welder, angle grinder,
chop saw, jig saw etc. to develop their artistic design.

Painting With Pastels:
Learn how to express the artist in you using the rich, intense
colors of soft pastels. This course is designed for adults
who have some painting or drawing experience, who want to learn
about pastel methods and materials. We will discuss the
various types of pastels available, appropriate pastel support
surfaces, and pastel painting techniques. We will work from
still-life set-ups and/or from photos to learn about composition,
color theory and application, and blending, and create richly
colored works of art. A supply list is available upon
request. Please bring all supplies the first day of
class.

Recycled Wool Felted Flower
Pins
Brighten up a winter coat or hat with these lively blooms. Create
two colorfull flower pins out of recycled felted wool sweaters.
Embellish with beads and embroidery thread.

Painting the Portrait Alla Prima
Working in oils students will learn how
to establish a likeness by quickly blocking in value and shape,
building a portrait from general forms to specific detail. The
workshop will begin with a demonstration in the morning and then
allow for students to work independently with critique and
instruction during the afternoon. There is no cost for the class,
but there is a 20 dollar model fee. Materials list will be mailed
to registrants. Register early as class space is limited!

Mural Painting
Learn how to paint murals from the ground up! Starting with
sketches, students will work collaboratively and create something
really BIG, hand painted, right on the wall for everyone to see. If
you're afraid of paint and worried about painting big this is the
class for you! If you're curious as to how murals are put together
and like to have fun this is the class for you!

Children's classes - here are just a few of the fall class offerings:
Video Editing 101
This class will provide students with a basic understating of
editing film. We will work on making a music video as well as
creating videos of comedy shorts. We will combine acting and
prop making with learning how to edit the footage we get into
movies. Also reviewed will be incorporating sound effects and

Ages: 8-12 yrs
Radiant Tween Yoga (ages 8-11)
Through posture, breathwork, meditation and games, students will
learn to incorporate the principals of yoga (balance, focus,
flexability, strength) into their school and home life. Specific
attention is given to learning body awareness, improving
self-esteem, and learning how to cope with life challenges. Mats

Monsters, Goblins and Orcs
In this class students will use many art forms to create creatures
that are creepy, kooky and spooky! A fun time for exploring
sculpture, photography and drawing with music, movie clips and food

Junior Mask Making
Put on a mask and be transformed. You can move, act, and think
differently when disguise. Roar like a lion, twitter like a bird,
or experience life as another person. Each class will offer a
technique in mask making: feather/embellishments, construction,
foam, and paper mache. Note: The paper mache masks take up two
classes to allow for drying time. Instructor:
