Diane Ahrens will teach a cupcake decorating class from 1-3 pm.  Classes will be held every 30 minutes, but come when you can!  Children ages 3 and over, accompanied by an adult at all times, will decorate one supplied cupcake in an animal theme.  Students will learn to decorate with butter cream using a pastry bag and tips.  They'll also cut and apply fondant to make a variety of charming animals associated with the Fox River.

Classes will be taught by Diane Ahrens.  Diane has owned and managed Piece-A-Cake bakery www.pieceacakebakery.net/index.html in East Dundee since 1994.  She is an ICES Certified Sugar Artist and a two-time team competitor on TLC's "Ultimate Cake Off".  She's been teaching cake decorating at Kendall College since 2005.

The class is offered as a side event for the "That Takes the Cake" cake decorating contest which will run from 1:00-4:00 in the main gallery.  Class participants are welcome to attend the contest: $10 entry fee for adults and free for children under 12.  Visit www.noarda.org/that-takes-the-cake for applications and more details.
