Harness the power of acid to create your next art work! To start, a zinc plate is covered in a waxy acid-resistant ground. A scribe is used to remove the ground, exposing the bare metal. Etching acid eats the exposed zinc which creates grooves that will hold ink. Students will learn the intaglio method of printing their unique etched plate onto paper.

Puppetry is not just for kids. All across the country “puppet slams” are happening... What is a puppet slam? It is a late night cabaret of short works of puppetry created specifically for adults to enjoy. During the course of this day-long workshop participants will conceive a 1-3 minute puppet piece, create mechanically accurate puppets, and perform their work at the end of the night at the “Puppet Meltdown Pop-Up Puppet Slam”! The highly skilled staff of Sea Beast Puppet Company have been running and performing in puppet slams for the past 5 years and will lead participants through the process of creating a slam piece from start to finish. He has conducted over 200 workshops throughout the United States and Canada and has written numerous articles for Ceramics Monthly, Pottery Making Illustrated, and Studio Potter, the most recent of which is, “An Approach to Single Firing – Further On”, in the January 2006 Ceramics Monthly."
